Hemp Companies Attending Field Day

Our Field Day on August 9 is approaching, with a lot of exciting things happening. Not only will there be educative events such as field tours and drone demonstrations, there will also be hemp companies in attendance. These hemp companies are influential in their field, such as one company being one of the largest hemp producers in the world and the largest in the United States. Another company produces on a smaller, more personalized level for growers and retailers in the Midwest. We are thrilled to host both companies at our Field Day.

Panda Biotech is a Texas-based hemp processing company, beginning in Dallas and moving production to Wichita Falls. Their large, eco-friendly manufacturing facility boasts nearly 500,000 square feet in two buildings and an additional 97 acres on their campus. To maintain the largest hemp production facility in the United States, they utilize renewable sources, such as solar and wind power generated in their region. In this sustainable facility, they have the capacity to process 150 million pounds of hemp annually — 85 million pounds of hurd, 34 million pounds of cottonized fiber, and the remaining millions of pounds will be short fiber or hurd mix and nutrient rich dust. With hemp, it is possible to get zero waste from the plant, which is Panda Biotech’s mission. They strive to produce quality hemp products made solely from United States grown hemp, and have already supplied mechanically cottonized fiber to companies in Mexico producing denim, who made jeans for US retailers. By the end of 2023, they will commence operations; currently, they are accepting sample bookings for fiber and are excited to meet growers at our Field Day.

Midwest Hemp Technology began in the hemp industry in 2018, initially concentrating on CBD. Sarah Stephens, founder and CEO, realized that fiber and grain from hemp have a more feasible, sustainable future for farmers, who have been her focus for years now. Based in Augusta, Kansas, outside Wichita, she knows how to effectively motivate Kansas officials, farmers, and the general population towards a future in hemp. At her four acre headquarters, she facilitates production of hemp seed food and oil, long strand fiber, and hemp hurd. She also owns Hempy’s Heart, the company where she sells hemp seed oil, hemp protein powder, hemp hurd, and more. Her products can be found in local retail shops, horse stables, farm stores, and even zoos. Midwest Hemp Technology aims to connect farmers with retailers, becoming an important coordinator to get hemp from cultivation to consumer. Their goal is to create a regional supply chain while aiding the eco-conscious movement to help decontaminate our planet.

Small and larger businesses are both vital to the long-term success of hemp in America. We need everyone onboard to help make production sustainable, and Panda Biotech and Midwest Hemp Technology are positively guiding the hemp industry in the United States towards a viable future for the miracle plant. Panda Biotech is committed to environmentally sustainable production on a large scale while supporting American farmers. Midwest Hemp Technology educates the public on the importance of sustainability and supporting local while leading Midwestern farmers towards a profitable future growing and supplying hemp to the rest of the country. Together, the hemp industry and companies can build a safer, stronger, more stable future for us and following generations.
